Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis (Greek pronunciation 1 October 1969) was an American comedian, actor and musician. He also wrote and comedian. He was featured in a Comedy Central Presents special and presented his show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has appeared in movies like The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010) and The Campaign (2012). He also appeared in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis also voiced characters for animated films like Puss in Boots (2011). The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Missing Link (2019). Ron's Gone the wrong way (2021). Galifianakis is currently hosting of the comedy show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis starred on the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina on October 1st 1970. His mother is Scottish-Irish and English descent, and his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized according to the father's Greek Orthodox faith. He has Merritt an older sister and Greg, a brother older than him. His cousin is Washington Post cartoonist Nick Galifianakis and his uncle, who is also known as Nick Galifianakis, is a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, and later attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in communications. Galifianakis worked at a public radio station during his time at college. He taught a waltz class in 1991 where he crossed paths with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live two weeks after he made his TV debut on Boston Common. Galifianakis has stated that he worked for Saturday Night Live for two week and Britney Spears was the host during one of those weeks. He wrote a sketch.
