Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31 1965) is a famous American model and actress. When she was 12, she began her career as a model for children. She earned critical acclaim for her part in Louis Malle’s 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling until her teens and starred in numerous dramas during the 1980s, such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) as well as Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields quit her model career to go to Princeton University where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields began acting again in the early 1990s, and was featured in small parts in movies. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), where she earned two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. In the year 2017, Shields returned to NBC with a recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is currently in its 19th season. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon, 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to the research of William Addams Reitwiesner, Shields is related to various noble families of Italy specifically from Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia of Civitella Cisi from Civitella Cisi was an Italian noblewoman and the daughter of an American prince is Teri's paternal grandmother. Her great-uncle Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman, was the husband of Infanta Beatriz who was born in Spain. Teri was paid a sum by Frank's family to end the pregnancy.
