Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick was born to Janice
(Cooke), an accountant and William Kendrick (a teacher). Michael Cooke
Kendrick, her older brother, has also performed. Anna Kendrick is Scottish,
Irish, and English. Her spectacular performance landed her the Drama League and
Theatre World Award.She was a lead singer in Cabaret's Kit Kat Club at
"Carnegie Hall Live" in Great Performances: My Favorite Broadway: The
Leading Ladies (1999) (TV). She had the pleasure of working alongside
choreographer Scott Ellis, choreographer Susan Stroman and a host of other
famous actors at the New York City Opera House. Anna starred in Camp (2003) and
was nominated for the Broadway Tony Award for Best actress (Featured role -
Musical) for her role in High Society. Following the 1991 Tony award winner
Daisy Eagan, she was the second youngest nominee. George Clooney ridiculed her
at the NYC Opera House, along with Jeremy Irons and choreographer Susan
Stroman. She also appeared in "Jane Eyre" as well as "The Little
Princess" for Broadway. In 1998, Jason Reitman cast her in Up in the Air.
It was following her performance on Rocket Science (2007). The only actress
from the 'Twilight' Saga to be nominated for an Oscar. In 2010, she received an
Oscar nomination between the second and third episodes of the series.
[September 2013] Has the rare distinction of appearing in three major screen
musicals which include Into the Woods (2014).
