Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris, France, to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was five years old, old, she relocated to Oxfordshire where she attended Dragon School. As early as the age of six, Emma knew that she was going to become an actor and, for a period of years, she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theatre school where she studied singing, dancing and acting. After eight consecutive auditions director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, that they had been chosen for the roles of the three leads: Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic screen appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). The film was the most popular film of 2001 in terms of weekend and opening day sales. The film's performances as well as those of its three young stars received praise from the critics. The well-known British newspaper, 'The Daily Telegraph', called her performance "admirable". Emma received five awards for her performance in the movie, including the Young Artist Award, for the Best Young Actress in the feature Film. After the debut film of the highly popular franchise, Emma became one of the most well-known actors in the world. Hermione Granger was her character for more than 10 years in the Harry Potter films. Emma has received two Critics' Choice Award nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her role in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
