American actor
Danielle Riley Keough. [2] She was born in Santa Monica to Danny Keough and
Lisa Marie Presley. She is the grandchild of Elvis Presley, actress, and
singer. Keough was born in Hawaii by her father, and in Los Angeles by her
mother. She also lived in California as well as Tennessee together with her
mother. When she was 15 Keough started modelling. She was featured at Dolce
& Gabbana's fashion shows as well as at Christian Dior's shows, and on the
cover of Vogue. When she was 20, Keough was cast in the role of a support in
The Runaways (2010) as Marie Currie. Then, she starred in the independent
thriller film The Good Doctor (2011) and the horror film Jack & Diane
(2012), before being given a small role in Steven Soderbergh's comedy Magic
Mike (2012). Keough appeared in several additional independent films in 2012
and 2013, including Yellow and Kiss of the Damned, prior to appearing in the
major-budget action film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) which was the fourth film in
the Mad Max series. In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as a law
student-turned-escort in the first season of the anthology series The
Girlfriend Experience, executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009
film of the same name. Her performance was well-received by critics and she was
also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an actress in a
small series or motion picture made for television. Keough's subsequent
performance as a young, strait-laced woman in American Honey (2017) won her
more acclaim. She received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. In the same
year, Keough played the lead in the apocalyptic-themed horror film It Comes at
Night (2017) as well as reuniting with Soderbergh for his heist film Logan Lucky.
In 2018, she starred in a variety of thriller and horror movies, including Lars
von Trier's The House That Jack Built as well as the Neo-Noir Under the Silver
Lake and Hold the Dark. In the year 2019, Keough starred as the main character
in the psychological horror film The Lodge, followed by an additional leading
role in the comedy-drama Zola (2020). Keough portrays the role of Sandy
Harrison in Netflix's 2020 release of The Devil All the Time.
